New Mori-Seiki SH-403 Horizontal Machining Center
December 2002, New Mori-Seiki SH-403 Horizontal Machining Center

Sparton Continues its Automation Build-up

Despite the general slowdown in the machining industry and general economy, we have been able to steadily build up our milling department by purchasing new equipment geared toward reduced labor costs. This is the third machining center we have purchased this quarter including an RA-IIIG vertical machining center, H-Plus 405 horizontal machining center and the newest this December (SH-403 horizontal machining center, shown above). We believe that without heavy investment in automation, domestic manufacturers will be find it increasingly difficult to compete in the global marketplace. Shops that do not continuously improve efficiency through reduced set-ups and faster more productive equipment will be left with an ever shrinking share of the available work. Sparton Technology is positioning itself to achieve that competitive advantage! Schedule a tour to see how our business model is a recipe for success.

October 2002, Matsuura H 405-Plus October 2002, Third Matsuura RA-III

New Horizontal and Vertical Machining Centers

With our milling work load increasing steadily, we purchased our Matsuura H 405-Plus (horizontal machining center) and Matsuura RA-IIIG (vertical machining center) to keep our customer deliveries on schedule.

Matsuura H 405-Plus Horizontal Machining Center

With it's six pallets and 310 tool magazine we can keep many parts set-up continuously for "lights out" machining.

Matsuura RA-IIIG Vertical Machining Center

The RA family of two pallet vertical machining centers have been steady performers at Sparton. The addition of this RA-IIIG makes three of this model, not to mention our larger RA-4G purchased in 2000. We will utilize it's two pallet system for higher volume work to minimize down time.

SolidWorks for precision sheet metal and precision machining
Summer 2002, Solid Works 3D CAD

Sparton Enhances Engineering Capabilities with Solid Works

Early this summer, Sparton purchased two seats of Solid Works enhancing our engineering capabilities and allowing us to open native files from customers. Solid Works has become the most popular CAD software used by our customer base. SolidWorks enables us to draw solid models or parts in 3D and see a true representation of how machined and fabricated parts will fit and function together.
